Tuesday Coached
Speed Sessions

5:45AM • Lionel Watts Oval

(Near the Soccer Field)

Start your week strong with our Tuesday morning sessions at Lionel Watts Oval. These runs focus on speed intervals designed to build fitness, improve pace, and boost running confidence. Whether you’re a beginner or more experienced, everyone runs together in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Expect a structured warm-up, fun and challenging intervals, and a group cool-down to stretch and recover. It’s a great way to push your limits safely, meet fellow runners, and start the day energised. Don’t worry about pace – we adjust as a group so everyone can participate and feel accomplished.

Thursday Hills4Breakfast

5:45am • Hills around Belrose

(Join the BRC Whats App Group to find out the location)

Take on the hills with our Thursday sessions, running on local Belrose hills specifically designed to build strength, endurance and overall fitness. These runs are perfect for runners of all levels, as everyone runs together in a supportive, friendly group on the one hill.

Each session includes a warm-up, a series of hill repeats to challenge your muscles and improve stamina and a cool-down to help recovery. Running the hills together makes the challenge fun, motivating and great for building team spirit, while giving you the chance to explore different parts of the Belrose area.

HAVE QUESTIONS…

Can I start if I’m completely new to running?
Absolutely! Speak to Ritu. She is one of our newest recruits and she does not come from a running backround. In fact she walks and jogs the speed intervals.
Our crew are very friendly, supportive and encouraging. People from all running fitness and experience levels are welcome. Our run crew ranges from Beginner Runner levels to Elite, Age Champiion levels.
What should I wear?

Comfortable running gear.

Either a 100% cotton T-shirt  or Dri-Fit Shirt or Tank/Singlet and shorts/tights. Comfortable running shoes.

Option to bring a towel and water bottle.

How long are the runs?
The two running sessions are 45mins in duration.
The total distance you end up running depends on variables such as your speed, cadence, fitness level.
If it suits you to run from home to the Oval it is a great way to extend your warm up prior to the session and a great way to cool down if you run home too.
Generally speaking expect to run 5km to 8km during a session.
Do I need to sign up before each run?
No. Once you join our whatsapp group, the coach will do a roll call the night before the session to guage how many people to plan the session for.

After your free trial session – please purchase one of the training passes on our shop. Kathy will track your pass usage and let you know when it’s time to renew.

Do I need to pay for every run?
Your first trial session is FREE! After that please consider purchasing either a 10 x training pass or a 20 x training pass.
Safety & parking info

Please inform the coach of any existing conditions (eg: asthma, epilepsy, heart conditions) that may affect your running performance.

Plenty of parking in and around the Lionel Watts Oval just off Blackbutts Rd, Belrose, since we train so early in the morning.

What if it rains?
We run in all weather with the exception of lightning.
Its important to train in many different weather conditions as you never what to expect come race day. You should always assume the session will go ahead, unless the coach cancels due to safety concerns.
Are dogs allowed?
Unfortunately no dogs are allowed to run on Lionel Watts Oval. We try to keep all our runners happy and safe.
Do you provide water or refreshments?
No, you are welcome to bring a bottle of water.
However, there are water bubblers available to the right of the oval.
Is there a social aspect to the weekly runs?
Yes, we are a great bunch of locals that love to enjoy a chat over coffee and a pastry after our sessions.
Outside our Tuesday and Thursday paid sessions, the group quite often asks if anyone fancies a run either on road or trail (on our whats app group).
We also celebrate our Belrose Run Crew Birthday and we look forward to our Annual BRC Christmas Party. If you’re new to the area, this is a wonderful opportunity to make friends with the locals.
Can i volunteer for an event?
Our Belrose Run Crew members that have volunteered for Race Event Companies such as 180 Cadence, (EG: Night Trail Half Marathon) have enjoyed FREE race tickets as a result of their volunteer service. We highly recommend volunteering as it is our chance to give back to the running communities that need our help.
